Handling and Storage Guidance for nitroethane
nitroethane is a flammable liquid (flash point below 60 °C, Category 3). Store in a dedicated flammable storage cabinet, away from oxidisers and ignition sources. Use explosion-proof electrical equipment in storage areas. Containers must be kept tightly closed and grounded during transfer to prevent static discharge.
nitroethane may cause irritation to skin, eyes, or respiratory tract, or has low-level systemic toxicity. Adequate ventilation must be provided in work areas. Personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection) is recommended during handling.
