The GHS04 gas cylinder symbol applies to gases stored under pressure in cylinders, tanks, or other containers. These include compressed gases, liquefied gases, refrigerated liquefied gases, and dissolved gases.

The primary danger is that heating the container can cause catastrophic failure and explosion. Refrigerated liquefied gases also pose cryogenic hazards — direct contact can cause severe frostbite.

Proper handling requires securing cylinders upright, using appropriate regulators, and never exposing them to heat above the rated temperature of the container.
